Long term care “Options Counseling”, know your options, and make informed decisions

Massachusetts has established a long term care policy called “Community First”.  The goal of the policy is to give elders and people with disabilities more information, options, and education about the availability of long term care.   

As part of this initiative, a program called “Options Counseling” was launched.  The philosophy behind it is to provide a full range of options in an unbiased manner that honors personal goals and individual’s choice.  The counseling services are provided by in-person counselors on location, by phone or email with the individual, their family members, and/or other caregivers. 

The Southern Massachusetts Aging and Disabled Resource Consortium (SMADRC) provide free Options Counseling and counselors are available to meet at your convenience.  For more information, contact the Information and Referral Departments of the following:
